Sept. 17- At 2 p.m., police saw a suspicious male at the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.  The 21-year-old male was with a car that had no gas in it.  Police started to check his license and registration.  He then ran from the police.  The Stafford County Sheriff Office came to assist UMW police.  They caught the male and he was arrested for resisting arrest.  The male was not the registered owner of the vehicle.

Sept. 18- It was reported that on Sept. 10 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. a student’s pink and silver Samsung Behold cell phone was missing from Melchers Hall.  The estimated value was $300.  There are no suspects at this time.

Sept. 21- Between 2:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., there was a hit-and-run on the fourth level of the parking deck.  There was a dent in a student’s car that was found upon the student’s return to the deck. The damage was well under $1,000 so it was not reported as a vehicle accident.  There are no suspects at this time.

Sept. 22- At 10:11 p.m., graffiti was found in an elevator in Russell Hall.  The graffiti was a smiley face and it said “Mr. Bill”.  There are no suspects at this time because the graffiti might have been in the elevator for a long time.

Sept. 23- Between 2 p.m. and 2:22 p.m., a UMW student employee left her purse in an office in Trinkle Hall and it was stolen.  At 3:40 p.m., the purse was found on a bench in front of George Washington Hall.  When it was found, $150 was gone.  There is one suspect.  A six-foot-tall black male between 22 and 30 years of age was seen twice near Trinkle and George Washington Hall.  He is thin with a medium complexion and has short hair.

Sept. 23- Three males on campus walk were saying lewd remarks to students on campus.  Two of the non-UMW students were 19 years old, and the other non-UMW student was 21 years old.  They were all given trespass warnings.

Sept. 25- On Sept. 24 between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., there were two small holes and a dent found on a student’s Oldsmobile car in the Alvey Hall parking lot.  The estimated cost of damage is $2,500.

Sept. 25- At 3:22 a.m., a 24-year-old female was found by housekeeping staff sleeping in a van in the Chandler Hall parking lot.  She did not go to UMW and was given a trespass warning.

Sept. 26- At 2:16 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a suspicious situation on Sunken Road and Hanover Street.  A male that does not go to UMW was drunk.  He was arrested for public intoxication.

Sept. 27- At 10:30 a.m., it was reported to UMW police by a third party that a sexual assault had occurred.  Both parties involved knew each other.  Police found the victim, but she refused to press charges.

Sept. 28- On Sept. 26 between 4:15 a.m. and 5 a.m., a possible sexual assault occurred in Westmoreland Hall.  The victim does not wish to be press charges.  Police are still investigating the situation.
