Oct. 7- It was reported that a UMW parking decal was stolen from a student’s car.  The student was not sure whether the decal was stolen off-campus or in the Marshall parking lot Sunday night.  The corner of the decal sticker had been peeling off, but the decal would not have fallen off.  The decal is worth $200.

Oct. 7- Between 9:20 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, cash register money from Seacobeck Hall was stolen.  The money had been placed in an employee’s office. Approximately $130 was later recovered.  The employee who found the money claimed to have found it in the bathroom.

Oct. 9- At 5 p.m., students alerted campus police to four people that were selling magazines outside Jefferson Hall.  The sellers did not have a permit to be on campus or a business permit in Fredericksburg.  They were given trespass warnings.  Police believe that the sellers will honor all subscriptions sold to students.
Oct. 15- In Jefferson Hall, an unknown suspect wrote in magic maker in the stairwell.  The vandalism said, “Stomp Loudly and Wake Jeffy the Jefferson Hall Dragon.”

Oct. 17- At 4:25 p.m., a male that was at the Battlegrounds parking lot for Homecoming, was arrested.  The male had been drinking and was in the process of urinating in public.  The officer arrested him for drunk in public, but the man resisted arrest.  He then assaulted the police officer by pushing him away and running.  The male was caught by police off-campus and was arrested.

Oct. 19- At 3 p.m., it was reported that a parking decal was stolen from a pick-up truck at the Apartments.  The decal is worth $200.  There are no suspects at this time.

Oct. 19- At 4 p.m., it was reported that a student grabbed a book and ran from the Bookstore in Lee Hall.  The student was found and identified.  The UMW Bookstore can decide to prosecute for shoplifting.  The case may go to Honor Council depending on the decision of the Bookstore.

Oct. 19- At 3:15 p.m., two employees of the Eagle’s Nest got into a fight.  The fight did not occur in the presence of a police officer and thus, the employees cannot be arrested.

Oct. 19- At 6:50 p.m., it was reported that someone had vandalized the elevator door in Russell Hall with a black pen.

Oct. 19- At 11:16 p.m., campus police found that a padlock had been tampered with on the north stairwell in George Washington Hall.  It seems that the person was trying to gain access to the roof.  A work order was submitted to fix the padlock.
