Jackson Henry-Lester, a University of Mary Washington junior sociology major, died early April 24, according to a release from the university.
The release also stated that Henry-Lester passed away at his off-campus home.
“The entire Mary Washington community is deeply saddened by Jackson’s death,” said UMW President Rick Hurley in an email from University Relations. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”
According to the release, the UMW counseling center is open to members of the campus community Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After-hours services are available through campus police.
University officials were not immediately available to elaborate on the statement.
