Health Center to Provide Flu Shots

The University Health Center and Department of Emergency Management and Safety will provide free flu shots for students, faculty and staff. Tuesday Oct. 23 from 11:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. in the Seacobeck faculty and staff dining room, according to EagleEye.

 

Secret Service Representative Visits Campus

On Thursday, Oct. 11, a representative from the Secret Service will be presenting information on how to use USAjobs.com and discussing federal resumes in Lee Hall 412 at 6 p.m., according to EagleEye.

 

‘Glimpses of Holland’ Exhibition

Gari Melchers portfolio “Glimpses of Holland” will be displayed at the Gari Melchers Home and Studio on Belmont 224 Washington St., Falmouth, from now till Nov. 18. The exhibition will run daily except Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Admission is $10 for adults and free for two students ages 18 and under accompanied by a paying adult. Each additional student will cost an extra $5 charge, according to EagleEye.

 

Electroacoustic Concert in Pollard

Rodney Waschka II, professor of art studies at North Carolina State University, will be performing a concert of Electroacoustic music in Pollard Hall room 304 on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 8 p.m. till 9 p.m., according to EagleEye. Admission is free for the event.

 

Literacy Leaders Symposium—Stafford Campus

The third annual Literacy Leaders Symposium will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 8:30 a.m. till 3 p.m. at University Hall, at the Stafford Campus. The Symposium will feature a keynote presentation by William Brozo, professor of literacy at George Mason University, according to EagleEye.

 

Freedom Riders Documentary

Race and Revolution, a freshman seminar course, will be sponsoring a screening of Freedom Riders, a documentary film in George Washington Hall’s Dodd Auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

 

‘Drawing Dimensionally’ Workshop

Artist Creighton Michael will be holding a “Drawing Dimensionally” workshop in duPont Gallery Thursday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. till 12 p.m., according to Professor Joseph DiBella.
