Letter to the Editor: Blood drive draws big numbers and great success
1 min readI would like to thank Alpha Mu Sigma for sponsoring the Red Cross blood drive on Jan. 24 in the Woodard Campus Center.
Led by Sara Weinstein, Alpha Mu Sigma was able to register close to 100 donors, with the Red Cross collecting 83 pints of blood. The goal for this blood drive was 50 pints, so Alpha Mu Sigma deserves to be commended for going the extra mile to help save lives.
The American Red Cross is dedicated to providing critically needed blood to hospitals, and the University of Mary Washington is a valued partner in that effort. The need for blood is constant, and the contributions of UMW students, faculty, staff and administrators help to ensure a healthy and reliable blood supply.
Alter Egos will be sponsoring the next blood drive in the Woodard Campus Center on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. I am hoping that the momentum begun by Alpha Mu Sigma will continue for this blood drive and carry on throughout the spring semester. Your contribution is important. You will feel good knowing you’ve helped change a life.
Chris Lynch is the account manager and a donor recruiter for the American Red Cross.
