There was a grand larceny of two manhole covers in the Simpson Library parking lot at 5 p.m. on Jan 19. The case is pending.

 

Violence

A student attempted to force himself upon another student in Russell Hall at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 25. The victim pushed away and left the location. The victim reported the attempt, but declined prosecution. One administrative referral was given.

A patron pushed down an employee in a case of assault and battery in Simpson Library at 8:38 a.m. on Feb. 1. The victim declined prosecution and a trespass warning was issued.

 

Drugs

The smell of marijuana was reported at 3:49 p.m. in Alvey Hall on Jan. 30. The case proved to be unfounded.

There was a narcotics violation reported at 1:53 a.m. on Feb. 2 on the second and fifth floors of Randolph Hall. The case was later deemed unfounded.

 

Liquor Law Violations

A UMW student, 19, was arrested for public intoxication and underage possession of alcohol on Feb. 4.

 

Vandalism

Spray paint graffiti was found on the retaining wall at Simpson Library between 9 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2012 and 8:18 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2013. The case is pending.

A window was broken in the hallway of the south side of the second floor of Eagle Landing between 1:05 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 2. The case is pending.

A window was broken in the main lobby on the second floor of Eagle Landing between 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 1 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 2. The case is pending.

The pipe cover of a control panel was removed and the water control valve was released on the first floor of Eagle Landing at 9:43 p.m. on Feb. 2. The case is pending.

An outside light was broken near the Eagle Village parking deck and a “no tow” sign was bent at 1:20 a.m. on Feb. 4. The case was later turned over to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

 

Nuisance

Two students, both 22, were arrested for a violation of the noise ordinance reported on the 1200 block of Rowe St. at 12:20 a.m. on Feb. 3. Each student received a court summons.
