Comedian Beth Stelling will perform her comedy act at the University of Mary Washington in the Great of Hall on Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. Stelling ranks second on a list of 12 L.A. Comedy Acts to Watch in 2013 by LA Weekly. She also made her standup television debut on “Conan” last summer. Stelling’s show is presented by Giant Productions.
Bioenergy:
Mark Poth, the former division director for sustainable bioenergy science at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, will host a seminar on the questions associated with sustainable bioenergy. The lecture, “Sustainable Bioenergy: Why, What, Where, How and Who,” will be held in Lee Hall room 411. The free lecture will be hosted on Sept. 18 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Financial Literacy Seminars:
A brand new series of Financial Literacy Seminars will be introduced on Sept. 14. The Office of Financial Aid will start the free series to help students learn more about taxes, budgets, credit and more. The launch will be in Lee Hall 411 at 11:30 a.m. The series is free to students, and they must register online to attend the event. Students who register by Sept. 12 will be entered into a drawing.
