Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science and international affairs and director of the University’s Center for Leadership and Media Studies, co-author a recent research paper, “The Foreign Policy Presidencies of Barack Obama and George W. Bush: Comparing International Television News Content.” The paper was presented at the American Political Science Association Conference in Chicago, Ill.
Robert McConnell, professor emeritus of environmental science and geology, recently co-authored and published “Environmental Geology Today.” His book details the effects of the human population on the environment and other geological principles. McConnell’s book includes introductory level geology and geological topics ranging from local to international issues.
Brian Baker, executive director for economic development at UMW, attended the White House Business Council Economic Development Forum. The forum included members of the White House Business Council and the International Economic Development Council. Executives from across the nation were invited to attend this forum and participated in discussions involving the needs for the 21st century.
Jon Pineda, assistant professor of English, linguistics and communications, is the author of the recently published novel, “Apology.” Pineda will be a featured panelist at many different upcoming events promoting his book. His novel was recently featured in a variety of reviews, such as The Virginian-Pilot, and Style Weekly.
