Kappa Sigma remembers Boston Bombing victims

The Kappa Sigma Fraternity hosted an event in remembrance of the Boston Bombing that occurred April 15, 2013 at the Boston Marathon.
The event, held on Wednesday, Feb. 26 and Thursday, Feb. 27, took place on Ball Circle. A canvas, which was given by the organization “America 4 Boston,” and was presented by the fraternity for students to sign their names and write messages for the victims of the bombing.
“America 4 Boston” is a grassroots project designed to honor the Boston Marathon bombing victims and the city of Boston, according to their website. The organization was created with the intention of showing “America’s unity and humanity.”
The canvas will be presented at the Boston Red Sox stadium in the upcoming season, along with the canvases from the other 50 participating Kappa Sigma chapters. The canvases will honor the three people who lost their lives to the bombing and the 264 injured.
Following the signing, a brothers-only picture was taken, where members of the fraternity took a picture with the canvas. A picture was also taken of any UMW student who participated in the event and wanted to be pictured with the canvas.
