Spring fashion echos cooler colors, tones of fall

This has been an unseasonably cold April in Fredericksburg. Students have been more inclined to bundle up than to break out their floral sundresses. For this look book collection, the colors gravitate more towards earth tones that are usually more prevalent in fall collections.
However, the spring/summer color palette of persimmon and taupe dominated on spring/summer runways in both Coach’s and Veronique Leroy’s collections.
These looks combine the sunset fashion color of persimmon and the hazy taupe amongst several other browns, greens and blues. Here are four outfits that students can wear when it warms up beyond 60 degrees.
Bench study session:
Stripes have been consistently in high demand this season. From Francesca’s mass- produced, loose-fitting black and white striped dresses to the Spring 2016 striped Armani jackets presented on the Milan runway. For this look, the model is sporting a black and white striped crop top, a suede brown button up skirt, a pair of light brown heels and a vintage green and brown Ralph Lauren bag.
Walking down campus walk:
A loose fitting dress is a perfect way to be comfortable and cute. Many fast fashion stores such as Target, H&M and Forever21 have been mass-producing versions of this dress in several prints, colors and cuts. This look is perfect for both class and a casual dinner. The model is wearing a loose-fitting long sleeve patterned dress, a light tan cross body bag, brown wedges, three bracelets and a ring.
Picnic on Ball Circle:
A maxi dress is a spring staple. They’ve decreased in popularity since 2014, but maxis are an easy way to look pulled together without the hassle. Also they are incredibly comfortable to traipse around in. The model is wearing a light hazy taupe striped maxi dress and a pair of sandals
Dress well test well:
The final look is for those pesky class presentations where students want to look polished, intelligent and mature. The model is styled in a white lightweight top, a gradient blue statement necklace, a pair of classic denim boyfriend jeans, tan heels and a brown bag.
