James Farmer Lecture Nominations

UMW is seeking nominations for the James Farmer Lecture. Nominees should be chosen based on work contributions toward civil rights and social reform that exemplifies former UMW professor James Farmer’s qualities and traits. Any UMW community member is welcome to submit a nomination. Nominations will be accepted through March 31.

$18,000 Japanese Studies Grant

The UMW Leidecker Center for Asian Studies was given a one-year $18,000 grant on Jan. 29. The grant will provide a course in Japanese literature, nine visiting presentations and $5,000 in books and films for the library.

Debate Team Places Third at Round Robin

Seniors Colin McElhinny and Thomas Pacheco placed third at the Herbert L. James Round Robin, held at Dartmouth College on Jan. 25 and 26.

Spring Variety Show

UMW Community Outreach and Resources will host the annual Spring Variety Show on Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Dodd Auditorium. The show will benefit Habitat for Humanity and UMW Alternative Breaks. Admission will be $1 with all the proceeds going towards the cause.
