UMW Adopts Distance-Learning Model

Distance learning refers to courses in which a minimum of 80 percent of the instruction and classwork is conducted online. As one of the fastest growing forms of higher education in the nation, its merits and drawbacks are being discussed among professors and students alike.

A student reported site on distance learning delves into UMW’s own program by looking at students’ opinions, the state and national trends and the components of online coursework, complete with articles, video interviews and interactive polls.

Additionally, to further the University’s understanding of student opinion, the Department of Distance and Blended Learning has developed a survey that can be taken here.
