Thursday, Oct. 1:
• Head down to the Underground and cut a rug at DJ Night. Hosted by WMWC, the dance party starts at 10 p.m. and runs until 1:30 a.m.
• The Orpheum Film Club screens Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange,” which is based off the acclaimed novel. The movie starts at 9 p.m. in Combs 139.
Friday, Oct. 2:
•Cheap Seats hosts “The Hangover” at 7 p.m. in Combs 139. Admission is only $1 so there’s no reason not to come out and have a laugh.
•Come check out bluegrass/folk sensations The Green Boys as they rock the Underground at 9 p.m. Come early to get a bite and a front row seat (see inset).
•Come to Ball Circle between 5 and 7 p.m. for UMW’s Rocktoberfest. Giant Productions is sponsoring the event, Allman’s Barbeque is providing the food, and “We the Kings” are bringing the rock (see inset).
Saturday, Oct 3:
• The WMWC, UMW’s own acclaimed radio station, is taking over The Undergound for their first-ever Acoustic Festival. Starts at 7 p.m.
• Bring your instrument of choice and mosey down to Picker’s Supply for a lesson in bluegrass jamming. The jam starts at 2 p.m. and there will be lessons in proper etiquette for playing in a group.

Sunday, Oct.4:
• Open-mic bluegrass jam at Sunken Well Tavern kicks off at 7 p.m.

Monday, Oct.5:
• The 21st annual James Monroe Lecture will be held in the Great Hall at 7 p.m. Gene Smith, curator of history at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, will be delivering her lecture on “The War of 1812: Slaves, Monroe, and Fighting for Freedom.”
• Bingo night at the Underground starts at 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 6:
• Find out the truth about what has been making our campus sick as “Made in Mexico? Tackling the Myths, Mayhem, and Media Frenzy Surrounding the H1N1 Virus” debuts in Lee Hall, Room 411A at 6 p.m. The event is free and is part of Latino Identities Month.
• Popular New York City singer-songwriter Kailin Garrity plays the Underground at 8 p.m. Check out her music at kailingarrity.com
• Open-mic night will follow Kailin’s performance in the Underground for musicians, comics and spoken word. Starts at 9 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 7:
• Be a part of Latino Identities Month by attending a free screening and discussion of the film “Walkout.” Food and drinks will be served. Starts at 6 p.m. in Chandler Hall, Room 102.
