UMW Galleries Open

The exhibition “The Art of the Book” has its opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Ridderhof Martin Gallery on Jan. 24.

“Double-Booked: Works by Brian Davis and Lauren Jacobs” has its opening reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the duPont Gallery on Jan. 24.

 

The Chappell Great Lives Lecture Series

Philip Freeman, author of “Julius Caesar,” will lecture about Julius Caesar on Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in George Washington Hall. Duane W. Roller, author of “Cleopatra: A Biography,” will lecture about Cleopatra on Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in George Washington Hall.

 

Films

“Darfur Now” will show on Jan. 28 in George Washington Hall from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and “Pushing Hands” will show on Jan. 30 in George Washington Hall from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

 

Fiction Reading

Author Lee Zacharias will be reading from her novel, “At Random,” in Combs Hall, Room 139 on Jan. 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in the Woodard Campus Center on Jan. 24 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
