Black History Month keynote speaker

Nwando Achebe, a history professor at Michigan State University and author of “The Female King of Colonial Nigeria: Ahebi Ugbabe,” will present a Cultural Awareness Series and Black History Month event in the Great Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Foreign film screening

On behalf of the Modern Foreign Language department, Dodd Auditorium will show the French film, “Schultze Gets the Blues,” in German with English subtitles on Mon., Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Faculty jazz ensemble concert

UMW is holding a free Faculty Jazz Ensemble Concert in honor of Black History Month, in the Underground on Tues. Feb., 12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Discussion on the 2003 Iraq War After 10 Years

UMW is hosting a roundtable discussion featuring faculty members Nabil Al-Tikriti, associate professor of history, Eric Bonds, assistant professor of sociology, Jason Davidson, associate professor of political science, Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science and director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies and Ranjit Singh, associate professor of political science on Wed., Feb. 13 in Combs Hall, Room 139 at 4 p.m.
