BOV elects new rector for UMW

The University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors (BOV) met this past weekend, Thursday Nov. 14 through Saturday Nov. 16 to discuss multiple topics.
On Thursday, the BOV held an on-campus orientation for the new members.
On Friday, the BOV held an election for a new rector and any other necessary executive committee positions. There was a unanimous vote for Holly Cuellar to take the position as rector and Joe Grzeika as vice rector.
Cuellar’s term began in 2010 and lasts through 2014. Grzeika’s term began in 2011 and will end in 2015.
Cuellar is a 1989 alumna of UMW and worked as a legislative aide for Gov. Rob McDonnell. She is a political consultant who served in the Office of the Virginia Attorney General as deputy scheduler and as Hampton Roads community outreach coordinator, according to the BOV website.
Grzeika is a 1983 alumnus of UMW. He is a business consultant with Arlington-based Strategic Insight and is president of Joetech LLC of King George, according to the BOV website.
